Gary William Bull (born 12 June 1966 in West Bromwich) is a retired English footballer. He played for many clubs, most notably Nottingham Forest, typically as a centre forward. ==Playing career== Having been a trainee at Southampton, Bull joined Cambridge United in March 1988. Bull first came to prominence at Barnet, scoring the goal that took them into the Football League for the first time in 1991. Two years later he was among the first signings by Frank Clark for Nottingham Forest, where he had succeeded the legendary Brian Clough as manager following relegation from the new FA Premier League. He played 11 Division One games in 1993-94 without scoring, just enough for a runners-up medal as Forest sealed immediate promotion. His only top division game came on 2 January 1995 when he was in first eleven at home to Crystal Palace and scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win. He was loaned to Brighton early in the 1995-96 season and was transferred to Birmingham City on a free transfer on 29 December 1995. He spent just over two months with the Blues, scoring once in 15 league games, before being transferred to York City. Six months after signing for the Minstermen he scored a goal as they beat Everton 3-2 in the second round second leg of the League Cup. His last league club was Scunthorpe United in the 1999-2000 season, where they suffered relegation from Division Two a year after promotion. But his playing career continued for much longer at non-league level. During the 2006-07 season at Boston Town, he scored 57 goals, a club record.
